2. Overview
- No cookies, no access to your device: This website does not store or read any information on your device (no cookies, no local storage). Consent under § 25 TDDDG is therefore not required, and there is no cookie banner.
- No tracking: We use no analytics or tracking tools, no social media plugins and no advertising.
- No third-party content: No external fonts, scripts, maps or videos are loaded. The website uses the system fonts installed on your device; all files are delivered exclusively by our hosting service.
- External links: This privacy policy contains links to third-party websites. Data (e.g. your IP address) is only transmitted to the respective provider if you click such a link.
3. Hosting and delivery of the website
Provider
This website is delivered using the Firebase Hosting service. The provider is Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google").
Data processed and purpose
Each time you access the website, your browser transmits the following data to the server for technical reasons:
- IP address of the requesting device
- date and time of the request
- requested file or URL, HTTP status code and amount of data transferred
- referrer URL (the previously visited page), if your browser sends it
- browser type and version and operating system (user agent)
This data is processed to deliver the website to your device, to ensure the security and stability of the service, to detect and prevent abuse and attacks, and to generate aggregated usage statistics (e.g. number of requests and data volume). We do not combine this data with other data sources and do not use it to identify you.
Legal basis
Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in providing our website in a technically error-free, secure and efficient manner.
Retention period
According to Google, Firebase Hosting retains IP addresses for a few months and then deletes them (firebase.google.com/support/privacy).
Data processing agreement and transfer to the USA
Google processes the data on our behalf. We have concluded the "Firebase Data Processing and Security Terms" with Google as a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Because Google LLC is based in the USA and uses a global network of data centres, the data is transferred to the USA and possibly to other third countries. Transfers to the USA are based on the European Commission's adequacy decision on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework of 10 July 2023 (Art. 45 GDPR), under which Google LLC is certified. In addition, Google has committed to the European Commission's standard contractual clauses in the terms mentioned above (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).
Necessity
Providing this data is technically necessary to access the website. Without it, the website cannot be displayed.
4. Contacting us by email or phone
Data processed and purpose
If you contact us by email or phone, we process the data you provide (e.g. name, email address, phone number, company, content of your enquiry and time of contact) in order to handle and answer your enquiry.
Legal basis
Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry is aimed at concluding or performing a contract; otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in answering enquiries addressed to us. Where we are legally required to retain data, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
Retention period
We delete your data once your enquiry has been fully dealt with and no further storage is required. If the correspondence constitutes a commercial or business letter (for example in connection with concluding a contract), we retain it for the statutory period of six years (§ 257(4) HGB, § 147(3) AO). The period begins at the end of the calendar year in which the message was received.
Email provider
We use Google Workspace for our mailbox. The provider is Google Cloud EMEA Limited, 70 Sir John Rogerson's Quay, Dublin 2, Ireland. We have concluded the "Cloud Data Processing Addendum" with the provider as a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Processing by Google LLC in the USA is possible; it is based on the adequacy decision on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR) and additionally on standard contractual clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).
Voluntary provision
Contacting us is voluntary. However, we cannot answer your enquiry without your contact details.
Note on email security
We support transport encryption (TLS) where your email provider also supports it. This does not make emails end-to-end encrypted, however. Please do not send us particularly confidential information by unencrypted email.
5. Recipients
Your data is disclosed only to the processors named above (Google LLC for hosting, Google Cloud EMEA Limited for email). We disclose it to other third parties only where we are legally required to do so (e.g. to public authorities).
6. SSL/TLS encryption
This website is delivered exclusively over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). You can recognise this by "https://" and the padlock symbol in your browser's address bar.
7. Your rights
You have the following rights with regard to personal data concerning you:
- right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
- right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
- right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
Right to object under Art. 21 GDPR
Where we process your data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you have the right to object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then no longer process your data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement. The supervisory authority responsible for us is:
